POW 13: Wellington's Jojo McKnight

The Wellington Sky Rockets have their sights set on a second state championship, and players like Jojo McKnight could help get them there.

"Jojo is dynamic," said Wellington Head Football Coach Wade Williams. "He's got a lot of speed, a lot of quickness, you know he made a catch earlier in the year over the top one-handed, just off the ground he has so much mobility and his vision is good, he's just an all-around good football player."

McKnight rushed for two touchdowns, one a 61-yard punt return in their 34-0 blowout win over Farwell in the area round of playoffs.

But McKnight says it’s not just his speed and quick feet that make the big plays happen.

"Our special teams, which is great," said McKnight. "Our o-line is blocking perfect, which makes everything work."

"You know he's always going to walk into the room, he's smiling, he's going to have a good time, but when it comes time to strap on the helmet he's going to be ready to play," said Williams.

As for making it this far in the playoffs?

"It feels great knowing that we can still play through December," said McKnight. " Which is the best feeling ever."

"You know if Jojo has a good night running the football we're going to be successful," said Williams.

Mcknight says as long as they can execute - they should have no problem getting another win against Gruver in the regional round of playoffs on Friday.
