Panhandle Spirit rises in Fritch

The devastating wildfire in Fritch has resulted in some homelessness.

Some are worse off than others.

However, at least temporarily, those folks have been put up in motels in Borger and other places.

As they've done so in the past, following a destructive tornado in the early nineties, the folks of Fritch have joined together to help their neighbors in need.

The various churches in town have led the way, providing food, clothing, grief counseling and clean-up services.

Individuals have also gone above and beyond, helping their friends, even as their own homes have been destroyed.

Fritch City Manager John Horst says some folks are still in shock.
