Eastridge Lanes making music
Eastridge Lanes on Amarillo Boulevard began business in 1959 during the heyday of Route 66.
The popular bowling alley was originally open 24 hours to accommodate airmen from the Amarillo Air Force Base.
In 1994 it was bought by Don Mansel, who also had a love for music.
Mansel passed away last year but not before beginning a musical tradition at the bowling alley.
Musicians now gather every Wednesday morning at 9:30 and jam until noon.
