WTAMU Police investigate attempted sexual assault on campus
CANYON, Texas (KVII) —
The West Texas A&M University Police Department is investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault on campus.
According to UPD, the report was received around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
UPD said the assault was alleged to have happened earlier Tuesday evening at Founders Hall. The victim and suspect were known to each other prior to the incident, according to UPD.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and UPD says when the report is complete, it will be forwarded to the Randall County District Attorney's Office.
UPD said the WTAMU Title IX Coordinator has been notified of the report. The University and area resources were made available to the victim.
