Authorities search for suspects following high-speed chase in Wheeler Co.
WHEELER CO. Texas (KVII) —
The Wheeler County Sheriff's office in search of suspects after a high-speed chase.
According to the Wheeler County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Deputy Walden tried to stop a vehicle early Thursday morning, but the vehicle refused to stop and continued traveling on I-40, exceeding speeds of 115 MPH.
The high-speed chase continued through Oklahoma where the vehicle was spiked west of Elk City.
Approximately six to 10 suspects got out of the vehicle and are reportedly on foot.
A controlled substance was found inside of the vehicle.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol has a helicopter out in search of the suspects.
