Fireworks and concerts are all set and ready to go for the 4th of July celebration this year.

The Amarillo Globe News has announced their 4th of July festivities will be held at John Stiff Memorial Park. The event will begin at 3:00 P.M. with live musical performances by Zac Wilkerson and Vic Fontana and the Automatics starting at 6:00 P.M. The fireworks show will begin when the sun goes down.

The City of Canyon is also continuing their annual July 4th celebration at the Kimbrough Memorial Stadium hosted by the Canyon Chamber of Commerce. Doors open at 9:00 A.M. with the parade kicking off at 10:00 A.M. Live music from Noah Jenda and Restless Heart will be provided during the "Kickin' It Up at Kimbrough" event. This year tickets will be $5.00 for adults and free for children 5 and under. Fireworks will begin at dark.

The Amarillo Police Department and Amarillo Fire Marshal's office are warning residents of the city's ordinance that prohibits the use of any fireworks within city limits. Fines for these violations can be up to $2,000.
