Learn the fundamentals of planning and orchestrating social events with a Certified Wedding and Event Planning course through Education on Demand at West Texas A&M University.
The 14-week course begins Sept. 8 and meets from 6-9:30 p.m. each Monday through Dec. 8 at the WTAMU Amarillo Center, Room 1011 in the Chase Tower in downtown Amarillo.
A local professional wedding and event planner will teach the basics of planning a variety of social events ranging from weddings and birthdays and baby showers while sharing knowledge about local and industry trends.
Students will learn what it takes to start and run a professional event planning business along with information on contracts, pricing formulas, marketing strategies and more. Information also will be available on how to create a network of wedding and event vendors needed to run a successful party-planning business.
The cost of the 14-week course is $995 which includes the textbook, instruction, online curriculum, event-planning software, certification exam and online student networking center.
