Friends and families participated in the second annual Robert L. Reid Memorial ALS Walk and Roll. The event helps raise funds for research to find a cure for the neurological disease known as Lou Gehrigâ??s Disease. Donny Hunt and his wife Kristen started the 3K Walk and Roll is in memory of his father-in-law, Robert L. Reid, who passed after a long battle with the disease on Feb. 4, 2012. â??Watching someone you care about suffer with this disease and die from this disease makes you feel very helpless.â?? said Hunt â??By getting involved and putting on this walk, we feel like we are doing something to hopefully alleviate that for future people so that they won't have to deal with the pain and the tragedy that we had to deal with.â?? Hunt said they're hoping to match the $16,000 raised last year. Those funds will go to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
