The Clovis Police Department is investigating a crash where a vehicle struck and dragged a stroller a child was in.
According to police, the accident happened Friday around 11:32 a.m. when they responded to a report of an auto vs. pedestrian accident involving a small child.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers learned from witnesses Robyn Snowberger, Bradley Cardwell, and the child were within the crosswalk crossing Norris Street. Police say Robyn was pushing the child in the stroller.
Police said Jossie Jackson was driving a black Hyundai SUV east on 21st Street and had stopped at the intersection of Norris to make a right turn. As the SUV made the turn, it struck and dragged the stroller before coming to a stop, injuring the child. All three were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Robyn and Bradley were both treated and released from the hospital. However, the child was taken to a Lubbock hospital to be treated for her injuries. No word on the severity of those.
The Clovis Police Department is investigating the crash. Officers said alcohol is not a factor in the crash. The Clovis Police Department is also reminding all drivers that with the warmer weather there will be an increase of pedestrians and motorcycle traffic that you need to mindful of and watch for while driving.
