UPDATE 6/9, 8:00 AM: Amarillo police have confirmed that only one the female was hit and injured in the accident. The 57-year-old male said that he went out to the road to aside the 39-year-old female when she fell down in the street, which is when she was hit by the vehicle. Police also said that alcohol consumption was a factor in this accident.
Two people were hit by a vehicle on East Amarillo Boulevard Saturday night.
The Amarillo Police Department said officers were called to the 3600 block of E. Amarillo Blvd. around 10:44 p.m. in reference to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that two people had been hit by a Nissan SUV travelling westbound. The two victims, a 39-year old female and 57-year old male, were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the driver of the SUV, a 46-year old male, was released after the investigation of the incident was completed.
