Two Canyon men have died in a car crash Saturday evening that happened on McCormick Road.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident happened just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening. Trooper say a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, driven by 26-year old Kristopher Keith Shoemaker was traveling East on McCormick Road at a high rate of speed. It crossed railroad tracks and he lost control. That caused the vehicle to enter a northside ditch and it struck a drainage culvert. Troopers say the vehicle flipped over onto it's roof and caught fire. Shoemaker's passenger, 24-year old Coulten Cecil Miller was also killed in the crash. Troopers say neither men were wearing a seat belt.
