Tucumcari Early election number are highest ever

Vote tallies show lots of early votes for city elections

TUCUMCARI -- All five districts for the Tucumcari city elections vote have been tallied and the new candidates are set for primary elections.

For district 1 and 2, the early votes and absentee votes were 31. District 3 had a total of 65 and district 4 had 44 total votes.

District 5 had the greatest number of votes with more than 100 votes. District 5 is a highly contested race with 4 candidates vying to replace Mayor Curnutt.

According to Angelica Gray, City Clerk, said that it is the biggest early election turnout in comparison to past elections.

The March 4, election will be held at the Convention Center and the polling time is from 7:15 am to 7:00 pm.

The unofficial election results will be announced by the City Clerk at City Hall between 7:15 and 7:30
