Tri-State Open Chili Championship preview

Whether you like it spicy, hot, or just normal and mild, all the chili temperatures and tastes you could dream of will be featured at the Rex Baxter building tomorrow.

Starting at 1:30 p.m. more than 100 chili cookers will be hot on the trail to become this year's Tri-State Open Chili Champion, with the benefits going to support the Make-A-Wish foundation, and if you're lucky enough to finish at the top of that field, you'll pick up a nice prize.

"These chili cooks are cooking for points toward terlingua our national cook-off, this is an open cook-off which means the first three winners automatically qualify for terlingua," said Chairman, Vickie Childers.

Childers says it's a pretty nice event for people to be part of during the winter because it's indoors, it's family-oriented, there's a live band, and there's a chance to win a door prize.
