Traffic stop yields drugs, guns

On July 7, at around 1:30 p.m., Amarillo police officers stopped a white Dodge in the 3300 block of SW 7th for traffic violations, but subsequently arrested both the driver and the passenger.
The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver's license. The passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding city traffic warrant.
The vehicle's owner was not present.
Officers arrested the driver, Christopher Allen Smith, 27, for the traffic violations and the passenger, Amber Dawn McLemore, 22, for the outstanding municipal warrant.
The officers checked the vehicle before impounding it and discovered a .380 caliber handgun between the passenger seat and console.
Under they seat, they discovered a box that contained a small quantity of marijuana, a pipe, scales, and a small quantity of what is believed to be methamphetamine. They also found a second box containing more than 100 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine.
Investigation linked McLemore to the contraband.
McLemore was booked into Potter County Jail for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance over four but under 200 grams, unlawfully carrying a weapon, possession of marijuana under two ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the traffic warrant.
The driver was booked into the Randall County Jail for disregard of a stop sign and no driver's license.
