      TODAY: Take a walk to view Amarillo's architecture treasures

      On Wednesday, May 28, the walking tour will begin at 4 p.m. at 1000 S. Polk St.

      Education on Demand is partnering with Amarillo's Center City to offer the second session of its walking tours that feature Amarillo??s historic architecture. The tours offer a unique opportunity to see the historical detail of downtown??s architectural treasures.

      Michael Grauer, associate director for Curatorial Affairs/ Curator of Art and Western Heritage for the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon, will lead the tour.

      On Wednesday, May 28, the walking tour will begin at 4 p.m. at 1000 S. Polk St. From there, participants will walk south to see the historic downtown churches and the historic mansions along Polk Street that were built by the pioneers.

      Center City is nonprofit organization dedicated to downtown revitalization. Center City sponsors events to bring more people downtown throughout the year. Other Center City events include High Noon on the Square in June and July and the Center City Block Party in August.
