Christmas has passed and people are flocking to the stores again, this time for refunds and exchanges.
Every year, the stores inside Westgate Mall prepare for the post-Christmas rush. Sunday's unexpected snow kept some people in their houses Monday morning, but the roads began to clear Monday afternoon and the mall started to see its anticipated business.
"It's a busy day with gift certificates, of course exchanges, sales we still have going that we had before Christmas," West Texas Western Store Owner Terry Martin said.
West Texas Western Store employs extra people to help through Christmas. But since one of the busiest times at the store is the three following Christmas, Martin keeps the extra help through the new year.
He recommends people wanting to exchange or refund items do it as soon as they can.
"We like for them to get in in the first week or ten days after Christmas," he said. "But we know some of them are gone out of town. But, yes, the sooner the better."
Christmas shoppers have caused a big dent in the store's merchandise. According to Martin, more merchandise will soon be on its way.
"First, second week of January on our basic stuff, but we are depleted. It's been busy."
