Wed, 03 Apr 2013 14:48:43 GMT — Area Congressman Mac Thornberry says furloughs look less likely at Pantex now.ã??He says when Congress passed the Defense Appropriation Bill it allowed more finessed funding of programs, rather than across the board cuts mandated by sequestration. ã??He says, "Passing a regular appropriation bill, rather than just, whatâ??s called a continuing resolution, where youâ??ve got to spend the same money on the same things this year as you did last year...having a regular appropriations bill makes a huge difference."ã??He says thereâ??s still some work to do getting the funding moved for Pantex but heâ??s optimistic. He says the funding also enabled Congress to approve a multi-year procurement for the V-22 Osprey, made at Bell.
