There are still plenty of kids waiting to be matched with a big brother or sister, but the organization needs volunteers. Each week Pronews 7 introduces you to a child waiting to be matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. This week, we're getting to know who nine-year old Lamar is.
Lamar is entering fourth grade at Avondale Elementary. He says while he's enjoying his summer, he can't wait to get back in school because he loves to read. Here's something fun and unique to know about Lamar, he has a twin brother, Jamar.
"It's fun I guess. It's fun, how come? Cause we get to wear the same stuff," said Jamar.
Even though he does have a brother, he's looking for an older male figure in his life to teach him things. "So we can play sports and video games". Lamar's favorite sports to play are basketball and football with his favorite pigskin teams being the Patriots and Steelers. But that's not all he enjoys doing.
"We swim and sometimes we watch movies and its fun. What's your favorite move? Man of Steel". So what's Lamar looking for a in a big brother?
"If he can be nice and athletic"
