The City of Amarillo's Community Development department is offering financial assistance for tearing down and removing substandard structures or the accumulation of debris.

This project is being funded through a grant from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and offered through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The goal of this project is to eliminate the debris and clean up low-to-moderate income neighborhoods.

Property owners seeking assistance in tearing down accessory like sheds or garages, residences and commercial buildings which may be fire damaged or deteriorated to an unsafe condition must qualify as low-to-moderate income to be eligible to receive assistance from this program.

There are applications available in the Community Development office in the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan St.
