Thanksgiving travel expected to increase slightly

More Americans will be hitting the road this Thanksgiving holiday season.
AAA is forecasting more people will be heading out of town than they did last year. It is predicting 43. 6 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home during the holiday. That's up almost one percent from last year.
Why are they heading out of town more this year?
A dramatic decrease in gas prices is allowing more Americans to head out of town. In Amarillo, the average price of unleaded gasoline has dropped more than 30 cents per gallon in just the last month.
The average price at the pump in Amarillo, according to AAA Texas, was listed at $3.26 per gallon.
Gas prices are expected to continue on the downward trend.
