CNN -- T
wo Texas police officers are being praised after their story of generosity made the news.
A woman was standing behind two police officers in the grocery store checkout line when it struck her as odd that the uniformed officers were buying a basketful of groceries.
So she asked them what they were up to.
"They told me that they were going to be donating the entire basket to a family in need," said Rebecca Vasquez.
Senior Officer Bryan Knief and Cadet Officer Anthony Vacarro were on duty Sunday night when they were called out to a home in Victoria. While they were at the house, they noticed that the family had no food.
The officers took it upon themselves to buy this family food, and that, in turn, made Vasquez want to share their story.
She snapped a photo of the officers and posted it on Facebook, and it got hundreds of likes and shares - many calling the officers a blessing to the community.
