PORT ARTHUR, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a man killed two people before killing himself at a southeast Texas beach. The Jefferson County sheriff's office says they received several 911 calls yesterday afternoon about a shooting at McFaddin Beach. Officials are investigating the relationship between the victims and the shooter.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas lawmakers are set to resume debating legislation that would place new restrictions on abortions in the state. The first special session ended last week after Democratic state Senator Wendy Davis staged a filibuster. Governor Rick Perry wants abortions bills debated and approved long before the second session's deadline.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) - Dallas-area police are defending their actions after a woman and her boyfriend were found shot to death by her ex-husband, who then killed himself. Grand Prairie police say 39-year-old Dashun Atkins killed 37-year-old Jenea James and 41-year-old James Doyle yesterday. Officials say James called police on Saturday to report harassing phone calls from Atkins, but she declined to press charges.

BASTROP, Texas (AP) - Fire has damaged a fireworks warehouse in Central Texas. Smoke was seen rising from the American Fireworks on Texas Highway 71 in Bastrop yesterday morning. Authorities say two employees inside the building at the time reported hearing fireworks go off. They got out without being injured.
