WACO, Texas (AP) - At least five people are in intensive care after a fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas. A spokesman for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco says the facility received 98 patients, including the five in intensive care. The fire and explosion yesterday killed between five and 15 people and injured more than 160 others.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The mayor of West says a nursing home near the scene of a fertilizer plant explosion has been cleared. Mayor Tommy Muska (MOOSH'-ka) says the nursing home was in the process of being evacuated last night when the blast occurred. Muska didn't answer questions about his fellow volunteer firefighters, but said, "I ask for your prayers."

WEST, Texas (AP) - The pope is using his Twitter account to ask followers to pray for the victims of the deadly plant explosion in Texas. In a message posted this morning, Pope Francis said: "Please join me in praying for the victims" of the West, Texas, blast. Authorities say the fertilizer plant explosion killed as many as 15 people yesterday.

KAUFMAN, Texas (AP) - The wife of a former justice of the peace has been charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths of district attorney, his wife and an assistant prosecutor. Kim Williams was arrested and charged yesterday with allegedly plotting with her husband, Eric, to kill the prosecutors. Police say Kim Williams allegedly confessed to playing a role in the slayings of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, his wife Cynthia and assistant prosecutor Mark Hasse.
