WACO, Texas (AP) - A Texas paramedic who helped evacuate people on the night of the deadly explosion in West has been charged with possessing bomb-making materials. Sheriff's deputies were called earlier this week to a home near West where they found a pipe, chemicals and fuses. They say the objects belonged to Bryce Reed.

MCALLEN, Texas (AP) - A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been arrested on a sexual assault charge after an incident with a woman he was guarding at a Corpus Christi hospital. Philip Westerman was booked into jail Wednesday with bond set at $150,000. The Border Patrol says Westerman is on administrative leave.

SANTA FE, Texas (AP) - A Southeast Texas woman faces a felony charge for allegedly delaying hospital treatment of her teenage son's gunshot wound. Police say a friend of the son accidentally shot the boy in the upper left thigh. They say the boy and his mother, Deborah Tagle, didn't seek treatment until she researched gunshot wounds on WebMD.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A former executive of a medical device company has pleaded guilty in Central Texas to defrauding investors and company shareholders. Investigators say David Applegate would ship products to a distributor for storage and report the shipments as sales. This enabled the Austin-based company to meet earnings forecasts.
