DALLAS (AP) - Funeral services will be held this weekend for a Dallas firefighter who died after being trapped while battling a blaze at a condominium complex. Fire officials say the service for 51-year-old Stanley Wilson is Saturday morning at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. Authorities are still trying to determine what sparked Monday's blaze.
DALLAS (AP) - A solar-powered plane has completed the second leg of its trip across the U.S. after landing in Texas. The Solar Impulse landed this morning at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport after taking off from Phoenix. From Texas, the plane will fly to St. Louis. Each flight leg takes around 20 hours.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A North Texas man faces up to life in prison and a $5 million fine for his role in running a methamphetamine ring. Federal prosecutors yesterday announced the conviction of 41-year-old Jermaine Irvin of Arlington. He is the fifth person prosecuted in the drug case going back to last summer.
McALLEN, Texas (AP) - A man from Guatemala has pleaded guilty in Texas to illegally crossing the U.S. border and stabbing a Border Patrol dog. Prosecutors say 19-year-old Luis Cruz-Solis faces up to a year in prison when he's sentenced next month. Authorities say Cruz-Solis stabbed the dog named Dinie while hiding in some brush. The wounded dog survived.
