MARION, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a pilot has been killed in the fiery crash of a small airplane less than a mile from a South Texas airport. The Federal Aviation Administration says the pilot was not in contact with air traffic controllers at the time of yesterday's crash near Marion. The plane went down near Zuehl Airport.
EAGLE PASS, Texas (AP) - Two sisters who live in a Texas border town have been reported missing and police are seeking the public's help in locating the girls. The FBI and Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation into the disappearance of 9-year-old Edna Perez and 7-year-old Dafne Perez of Eagle Pass. The sisters were last seen midday Wednesday playing at a park near their home.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Another former trainer at a South Texas Air Force base has pleaded guilty in a sex scandal with recruits. A military judge is expected to consider accepting the plea today and then sentence Andrew Lira. Prosecutors at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland charged Lira with having unprofessional relationships, adultery and obstructing justice.
ROMAYOR, Texas (AP) - Searchers mounted on horseback are set to join the search for a 31-year-old Southeast Texas man missing since early this month. Jurisdictional issues have complicated the search for Westley Moore. Teams from Texas EquuSearch will join the effort in northern Liberty County today.
