Here is the latest Texas news from The Associated Press

NEW CANEY, Texas (AP) - A Houston-area teenager wearing headphones while walking on railroad tracks has died after being hit by a freight train. Authorities believe Chris Neves was listening to music while walking to his girlfriend's home in New Caney and did not hear the train. Investigators say crewmembers braked and sounded the horn.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - The city of Brownsville says the constitutional rights of a teenager shot and killed by police at a middle school were not violated. The denial comes in the response to a lawsuit filed by the parents of Jaime Gonzalez. Police were responding to a call that he had threatened another student with a gun.

HOUSTON (AP) - Two groups of protesters marched in Houston's River Oaks area yesterday. One group rallied against the not-guilty verdict in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The other gathered in response to that group to show support for stand-your-ground self-defense laws. The marches remained peaceful.

DALLAS (AP) - An administrative judge will hear final arguments today on whether a judge who cited the Dallas County district attorney for contempt should be removed from the case. District Attorney Craig Watkins' attorneys want state District Judge Lena Levario to recuse herself from the matter or be removed. They accuse her of bias against him.
