AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - David Dewhurst and three fellow Republicans vying to replace him as lieutenant governor are squaring off in another debate. Todd Staples, Jerry Patterson, Dan Patrick and Dewhurst will share a stage today at the annual convention in Austin of the Texas Municipal League.

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (AP) - Investigators say three people have died following a passenger van rollover in Central Texas. Police say the wreck happened last night on northbound State Highway 130 near Pflugerville (FLOO'-gur-vihl). Police are investigating whether the van blew a tire in the single-vehicle accident.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A South Texas man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for stabbing his estranged wife more than 30 times just days after she filed for divorce. A judge sentenced Roberto Barron as part of a plea deal in the 2010 attack with a hunting knife outside a school. Investigators say Teresa Barron continues her recovery.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A Central Texas man faces up to life in prison over the 2010 death of his 2-year-old nephew who was critically hurt while in his uncle's care. Prosecutors say Mark Paniagua (pan-ee-AH'-gwuh) was upset with Carlos de la Rosa when the child cried. Authorities say Paniagua shook the boy, threw him into a room and on a mattress while baby-sitting the child.
