      AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A federal judge is being asked to delay enforcement of Texas' new abortion limits until opponents can contest their legality at a full trial. The limits require doctors to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals to perform abortions. The Texas attorney general's office argues the law is constitutional.

      DALLAS (AP) - Visitors to the State Fair of Texas have spent an estimated $37 million on the food, rides and other fun. A spokeswoman says good weather played a role in attracting people to the State Fair. A parade that traditionally helps end the fair had to be canceled due to the large crowd last night.

      CONROE, Texas (AP) - A Southeast Texas man accused of setting a boy on fire when he was a teenager is due in court today on a murder charge. Authorities say Don Collins poured gasoline on Robert Middleton and set him on fire in 1998. Middleton survived the attack but died from skin cancer in 2011. Authorities say the cancer was caused by the deep burns.

      AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The Moody Foundation has committed $50 million to the University of Texas. The endowment will go toward new curricular development, recruitment, research and building classroom space in the Moody College of Communication. Some money also will go toward undergraduate research and projects.
