      Texas news minute

HOUSTON (AP) - Two people are dead after a small plane crashed into a hangar at a small Houston-area airport. Authorities in Harris County say last night's crash occurred when the pilot was returning the plane to the runway at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport in Spring. The plane appears to have clipped one hangar before crashing into another.

DALLAS (AP) - Officials at the Dallas Zoo say they can't explain how a lion in an exhibit was killed by another in full view of families visiting on the weekend. A female lion was bitten on the neck by one of the male lions yesterday afternoon. Dallas Zoo Vice President Lynn Kramer says five lions are typically in the exhibit and never seem to endanger each other.

MCALLEN, Texas (AP) - Federal prosecutors have moved to officially seize the cars of a couple that owns a company suspected to be behind a South Texas Ponzi scheme. The FBI has been investigating USA Now Regional Center. The company helps the government recruit foreigners seeking U.S. visas in exchange for $500,000 job-creating investments.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Governor Rick Perry is addressing the Texas Public Policy Foundation today in Austin. Perry has opted not to seek a fourth full term as governor next year. But he hasn't ruled out another run at the White House after his failed presidential bid in 2012. The governor has been a vocal and visible critic of the White House's signature health care law.
