SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Investigators say a soldier has died after being found hurt at a South Texas military installation. Officials are trying to determine a cause of death for the unidentified soldier discovered early Sunday at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. Military police responded to a report of an injured soldier near some barracks.

SPRING, Texas (AP) - Investigators say one person has been hurt and two others escaped injury when a small plane crashed and flipped near a Houston-area airport. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened Sunday afternoon in a wooded area near Hooks Airport in Spring. Authorities say the single-engine plane apparently was trying to make an emergency landing in a field.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) - The board of Helen of Troy Ltd. has approved the repurchase of $550 million shares of its common stock. The El Paso-based company, whose brands including Febreze and Dr. Scholl's, starts a modified "Dutch auction" tender offer Monday to buy up to $300 million of its shares. It plans to repurchase the shares for no more than $66.50 each, but not less than $57.75.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - University of Texas System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa says he will resign as leader of the 15-campus system in order to return full time to practicing medicine. Cigarroa told staff of his decision in a Sunday night email obtained by The Associated Press. Cigarroa says he will be the head of pediatric transplant surgery at the system's Health Science Center in San Antonio. A Monday news conference has been scheduled.
