An 18-year-old Amarillo woman has died following a July 24 crash in Southwest Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, Esperance Munyura died at the hospital in the early morning hours of Friday, August 4.

Munyura was injured in a crash at South Coulter Street and Fulton Drive last month, when she was the passenger in a Cadillac SUV that crashed into a tree, then struck a brick wall.

The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Darias Sebagabo, was arrested for intoxicated assault the night of the crash.

The crash is still being investigated by APD's Traffic Investigation Squad. At this time, the case is pending and it is not yet known if Sebagabo's charge will change to intoxicated manslaughter.

Justice of the Peace Thomas Jones has ordered an autopsy for Munyura.
