Tascosa Belles work toward a dream

Amarillo is proud to have the Tascosa Belles drill and dance team as one of 20 teams in the U.S. invited to perform at the 2014 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
As you can imagine, a trip to the Sugar Bowl is not cheap, costing around $1,500 per girl, so the team is working hard to raise money for their once in a lifetime adventure.
The Tascosa belles have planned several fundraisers to help get them there and July 13, 2013 they held a car wash.
Members of the team say they're excited for this opportunity and appreciate all donations.
Tascosa Belles Booster Club President, Barbara Palmer said it is great to see high school girls being able to have an opportunity like this. Palmer has helped to plan several of their fundraisers.
"We've got more things in the works like a spaghetti dinner later on, some more restaurant fundraisers, and a pancake breakfast fundraiser with Applebee's." said Palmer "We're just looking to do what we can to get those girls to the Sugar Bowl."
The Tascosa Belles will also be hosting a garage sale Saturday, July 20, 2013 and teaming up with Texas Roadhouse July 29, 2013 to continue their fundraising efforts to make the trip to the Sugar Bowl and make dreams come true.
Donations are accepted from the community and if interested in helping the Tascosa Belles please contact Barbara Palmer at (806) 570-4398.
