UPDATE| According to Fritch Police Chief Houston Gass, Sanford-Fritch High School is all clear and the school is no longer on lockdown.

Gass said the suspicious package turned out to be a band instrument that had been left on the steps of the school. It is unknown why the instrument was left on the steps and not returned to its proper place.

The school was placed on lockdown and residents were advised to stay away from the area.
