      SPCA Helps Animals

The Amarillo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals held their annual garage sale today.

The SPCA is a local organization that helps find forever families for shelter animals and the funds raised from their garage sale will go toward medical bills.

SPCA Volunteer, Nancy Simpson said the money earned will help keep all the animals up-to-date on their vaccinations and receive proper ID requirements.

The SPCA typically raises an average of $3,000 each year from the sale.

Smiling volunteers shared stories about different animals in the shelter.

"We've been at our new shelter for about six or seven years and it's wonderful. There are 53 runs for the big dogs, a puppy room that has 25 small dogs and puppies and there's the Hayward Lodge for cats." said Simpson "If anybody needs an animal or has room for a companion please come see us."

The SPCA ({<}http://www.amarillospca.net/{>}) is always looking for friendly, loving homes for their animals.
