Snack Pak 4 Kids Canyon raises funds and awareness

Snack Pak 4 Kids Canyon is hoping to raise awareness and funds for its organization. An organization that is separate from Amarillo's.

Friday Canyon's organization held a golf tournament at Palo Duro Creek golf course to accomplish that goal.

Currently Snack Pak 4 Kids Canyon is helping feed close to 500 kids in the Canyon Independent School District. In fact, the need for their services only continues to grow. They're adding three additional schools this year to help keep more kids feed over the weekend. The golf tournament was organized to help with funds for that expansion.

"Basically these kids do not eat from noon on Friday until breakfast time on Monday without the support of our community. This golf tournament is a big kickoff to get these kids taken care of and to expand the program," said Executive Director of Snack Pak 4 Kids Canyon, Cindy Sheets.

The schools that will be added this year are the Greeways, Canyon Junior High School and Westover Park.
