Sheriff Deputy Buckles funeral takes place today

The funeral for Potter County Sheriff Deputy Sgt. Paul Buckles was held today at 10 a.m. at Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo.
Pastor kevin Oakley of Mescalero Baptist Church and Pastor Danny Mize of Fellowship of Believers in Hereford officiated.
A funeral procession followed with interment in Llano Cemetery East.
Sgt. Buckles was born Sept. 25, 1956, in Amarillo. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1975. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a security police officers over silo missiles.
Sgt. Buckles started working for Potter County Sheriff's Office in March of 1988. Through his tenure he clocked 2600 hours of training. He held a master jailer and peace officer license through TCLOE. He served 26 years with the Sheriff's Office. He was also a singer/songwriter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merrill, and a brother, Steve.
He is survived by his son, Jack E. Buckles; his sisters, Cynthia Fesler and Susan Dunlap; his brothers, Daniel Buckles and wife Donna, Bill Scott and wife Debi, Chuck Scott and wife Corina, James Scott and wife Sharon, and Pat Scott and wife LaRae; his mother, Carolyn Buckles and his stepmother, Estelle Buckles; numerous neices, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews.
