Walkers and runners from across the area will be on the road Saturday, September 14th to raise awareness of road safety during the third annual Share the ROAD! 5k and one mile fun walk.
"This annual event not only helps raise funds to support our mission, but is also a great way to remind our community how important it is to share the road," Share the Road president Ken Graham said.
The mission of the organization is to improve the safety of motorists, motorcyclists, bicyclists, runners and pedestrians by promoting awareness, education and understanding in Amarillo and the surrounding communities.
"If we all do our part and avoid distractions while behind the wheel, we'll all be safer," Graham said. "In fact, we'll save lives."
The 5k will start at Amarillo College - 24th & Jackson - at 8:00am and continue through the bricked streets of Amarillo's historic Plemons Eakle Neighborhood. Registration is available at GetFit Amarillo, 2311 S. Georgia, or online at http://getmeregistered.com/ShareTheRoad5K
