A Clovis man accused in a double murder case has turned himself in to Roswell police.
Anthony Casillas, 21, was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with two open counts of murder and tampering with evidence in the shooting deaths of Gary Payne of Melrose and Melissa Ward of Lubbock, Texas.
The two victims were found Sept. 25 inside a van that crashed into a concrete wall. An autopsy confirmed both victims died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Police have yet to determine a motive.
Clovis authorities were headed to Roswell on Friday to take custody of Casillas. He will be returned to Clovis, where he will be booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center.
