Ronald Mcdonald House to recycle tabs

The Ronald McDonald House in Amarillo is awash in soda tabs.

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees presented the House with 1250 soda pop tabs they can recycle.

The tabs were donated and accumulated across the country over the past two years.

The organization says it appreciates the work the non-profit does for families of children in the hospital.

Shelley Cunningham, the Director of the House says, "if you've had to travel to Amarillo and your child is in the hospital, you are probably not at work and probably all of your income is gone to pay for the hospital bill. And so anything we can do to make it easier for families to stay with their children is the most important thing."

Money received from recycling the tabs will go toward client transportation and medications and other needs.
