According to the Texas Department of Transportation current weather conditions could cause icy road conditions overnight. Ramps, overpasses and intersections will be the most affected areas but black ice can form on main highways overnight.
As a precaution TxDOT is asking drivers to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, approximately 300 feet, and travel at slower speeds. And, as always, avoid travel if you do not have to travel.
In the meantime, TxDOT crews will be on patrol and apply deicing materials and traction as needed. If you would like more information on road conditions visit drivetexas.org or call 1-800-452-9292.
