A group of students at River Road High School are putting themselves through a 90-day detox program. Why on earth would they do this to themselves?!

This program is all part of the Nutri-Bullet Nutri-Living Uni Contest. River Road High placed first in the contest out of 75 schools. Along with four other schools who also won the grand prize, the students received $10,000 worth of produce, Nutri-Bullets for the entire class and each student, and some cool sweatshirts.

"I was really ecstatic when I found out. We don't win anything, so it's exciting!" said Amy Farrow, senior at River Road.

"I'm having a lot of fun juicing and eating all this good food here," said Christopher Sanders, junior at River Road.

Even though the students are having fun, the important part is that they are sticking to a healthy lifestyle.

"I have higher bad cholesterol so I'm trying to get that fixed and I'm just trying to be healthier," said Farrow.

"I'm trying to gain weight. But not fat, muscle," said Sanders.

Their teacher, Diane Porter, also has some health goals of her own.

"Not to be 56â?¦." said Porter. Jokes aside, she hopes this big win can be a positive note for all students.
"Healthy can taste good. It can be fun. You don't have to believe the marketing that is pushed on us from food companies," said Porter. "I don't think these kids ever have felt good. They don't have a point of reference for feeling good and this was my goal."
