Red Flag fire warning, burn bans in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A Red Flag fire warning has been issued for about half of Oklahoma by the National Weather Service because of low humidity, warm temperatures and strong winds in the region and four counties have issued burn bans.

The warning covers the entire northwestern half of Oklahoma and extends into east-central areas of the state.

The weather service says winds will be between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour on Saturday and the humidity is expected to be between 10 and 20 percent with afternoon temperatures from the mid-60s to lower 70s.

Burn bans are in effect in Canadian, Cotton, Pittsburg and Stephens counties because of the conditions.
