Pronews 7 says farewell to Jay Ricci

Jay Ricci will be leaving the Pronews 7 family, we wish him well in his future endeavors.

After more than 20 years in Broadcast Journalism in Amarillo, longtime news anchor Jay Ricci is leaving the Pronews 7 family. Jay joined Pronews 7 in October of 2003, to Anchor the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.

"When I came to Amarillo in May of 1995, I learned right away how generous and kind the people of the Panhandle are," Jay said. "That made living and working here these past years pretty easy."

During his time with the Pronews 7 family Jay has always believed that giving back to the community is part of the job and it is a part he really enjoys. Jay has been actively involved with several area organizations including but not limited to Coffee Memorial Blood Center, The Bridge and the Children's Miracle Network.

Jay says he has enjoyed his time at Pronews 7 and that he will certainly miss working with some great people.

For now, Jay, his wife Sharon and their family plan to stay in Amarillo.

"Itâ??s is not retirement by any means," Jay said. "My family isnâ??t going anywhere. For one thing, Iâ??d miss working with a lot of organizations too much."

Join us tonight on Pronews 7 at 6 and 10 as we say farewell to Jay. You can also send him your well wishes on Facebook and Twitter.
