A grassfire west of the Canadian River is well under control, according to authorities.
The fire started around 3:40 p.m. just west of the Canadian River.
According to Assistant Fire Chief of Potter County Fire Rescue Pat Fitzpatrick, the grassfire took over about 150 acres.
At approximately 6:30p.m. Fitzpatrick said the fire was 90% contained.
There are no reported injuries and no structures are in danger.
Fitzpatrick said that the fire trucks had trouble getting out west of the Canadian River to get to the fire because of the sand. He said that firefighters used four wheelers to transport people and use their hands to work the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
