Portales Junior High renovations approved
PORTALES, New Mexico (KVII) —
The Portales Junior High School will undergo renovations to improve its functionality and safety in 2018.
According to the Eastern New Mexico News, Portales Municipal Schools Board of Education approved the designs for a new cafeteria on Monday.
The district will determine the cost of the makeover in January, but according to Superintendent Johnnie Cain, they are estimating the budget will be around $1 million.
The improvements to the cafeteria will include a covered courtyard and sliding gates, which will separate the cafeteria from the parking lot. Construction is expected to last from February to August.
