Police Officer Memorial set at Llano East Cemetery as part of National Police Week
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
The public is invited to join Texas Panhandle law enforcement at a Law Enforcement Memorial Service on Monday, May 15.
The memorial, part of National Police Week, will be at the Field of Honor at Llano East Cemetery at 5:30 p.m. to honor officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The colors will be presented by an honor guard of officers from the Amarillo Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and both Potter and Randall County Sheriff’s Offices.
The memorial will include a wreath laying, a rendition of Taps and bagpipe performance.
APD said entry to the memorial area can be accessed on the east side of South Arthur Street, north of SE 34th Avenue.
If there is inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Comanche Trail Church of Christ at 2700 SE 34th Avenue.
