A 20-year-old man was robbed late Wednesday evening in the parking lot of a popular Amarillo movie theater, according to police.
At about 11 p.m., Wednesday, police said a 20-year-old man reported that he had parked his vehicle in the parking lot of the Hollywood 16 Movie Theater and was walking to the front of the theater when two men started running toward him. Hollywood 16 is located in the 9100 block of Canyon Drive.
The victim told police the men were yelling at him to show them his hands as they were approaching him. He told police the men were approaching them in a very aggressive manner.
Police said one of the suspects told the victim to give them all his money. The victim then, according to police, pulled a loose bill out of his front pocket and threw it on the ground.
One of the suspects picked up the money and both then took off running back into the parking lot.
The victim immediately called police.
One of the suspects may have heard the phone call, police said. Both suspects then drove over to the victim's vehicle where one of the men punched out the window on the passenger window.
Police said the suspects left in a 1990s model Ford Ranger. The victim told police he recognized both of the suspects as acquaintances in the past. He told police he did not know of a motive.
The victim, according to police, was not injured.
