Police arrest suspect in pair of armed robberies at Amarillo businesses
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
The Amarillo Police Department has arrested a man suspected of robbing two Amarillo businesses within about 15 minutes.
According to APD, the investigation into the robberies led to the identification of 39-year-old Jesse Gonzales Jr. as the suspect.
Police said two warrants out of Potter County for Aggravated Robbery were issued for Gonzales' arrest.
Members of APD's NPO Unit found Gonzales at a home in the 1500- block of North Houston Street around 1:30 Wednesday. He was arrested for the warrants and booked into the Potter County Jail.
Gonzales is suspected of robbing two businesses on the night of Sept. 23 and the early morning of Sept. 24. One of those businesses was in the 2600- block of Wolflin Avenue. Fifteen minutes after that a business in the 2200- block of Southeast 27th Avenue was robbed at gunpoint.
The suspect description was the same in both robberies.
