A man wanted out of Potter County has been shot and killed by a bounty hunter in Plainview. According to the Plainview Daily Herald, 31-year-old Derek Graves was killed in the backyard of a residence in Plainview.
Graves had an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Plainview Police Chief Will Mull said Jarrod Flaming and another man, were working with Big Dog Recovery of New Mexico. The two were attempting to serve Graves with an outstanding warrant, when Graves fled the scene. The two pursued him and the chase ended with Graves being shot by Flaming. Plainview police say Graves was pronounced dead at the scene. Flaming of Carlsbad, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
The case is being investigated by the Plainview police, Texas Rangers and the Hale County District Attorney's office.
